Shield Or, in base an inescutcheon lozengy of Argent and Azure, issuant from inescutcheon a saint in Benedictine habit Sable, nimbed Argent and holding a chain Or by his right hand and a crozier Or by his left hand, at sinister a kneeling pilgrim dressed Gules with bag and baton Argent.
Meaning:
Inchenhofen was mentioned as a market town since 1392. The town had been a place of pilgrimage before and was called St. Leonhard, named after the saint Leonard on the arms. The saint was already depicted on the oldet known seal print from 1399. Chain and pilgrim are his attributes as patron saint of prisoners. The crozier was added later in the 17th century. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Wittelsbach kin. It appeared first on local seals since 1490. Coloured paintings of the arms exist since the 16th century.
