Shield Argent, a crest coronet Sable over a fess wavy Azure, shield mantled Gules, at dexter charged with a gridiron Argent, at sinister with a mermaid Argent holding a water lily leaf of the same in her right hand.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is representing the municipality's name. The coronet is taken from the arms of the Lords of Diebach. The gridiron is the attribute of St. Lawrence, patron saint of the church of Bellershausen Village. The mermaid is representing Oestheim Village. According to a legend three mermaids went to dance in Oestheim, but the waited in vain for their admirers. They lived in the bottomless hole, a local fountain. Its water turned red, as the father of the mermaids killed them afterwards.
