Shield Gules, an impending church Argent with an hexagonal building Argent on a base of the same, flanked by two towers of the same masoned Sable, the whole ensemble is topped by three Latin crosslets Or.
Meaning:
Church and towers had already been displayed on local seals from around 1380 with existing prints since 1422. The 2nd seal from the beginning of the 16th century proves, that the central building is the choir of the Cathedral of Bamberg. The role of Bambergian vassals (1603) displays a church with just one tower. The colours red and white are those of the Archbishopric of Bamberg. The flag colours are the Franconian colours.
