The ratio is 3:5. It is a green - white - green vertical triband with ratio 1:3:1. The coat of arms without shield is filling the white stripe.
Meaning:
According to source the tree is canting and the shield is symbolizing the dukes of Mecklenburg.

Flag and coat of arms were approved by minister of interior of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania on 27 September 1999, published in the roll of arms of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania as no. 0080.
Description of banner:
It is a red-yellow-blue vertical tricolour. In the yellow stripe and shifted to the top is the local coat of arms. The arms are surrounded by a black, embowed inscription "Neubukow" (above) and "Mecklenburg" (below). The colours of the stripes are those from the old flag of Mecklenburg.
