Meaning:
Neustadt was first mentioned as a city in 1232. The very first city seal with prints since 1282 displayed basically the same pattern, which often changed in details. It is one of the typical seals of the cities under the rule of the Bishopric of Würzburg. The central tower probably belongs to the local church, while the other buildings are representing the local fortification, which partially still exists. When merging with Bad Neuhaus in 1934, Neustadt gained the title of a spa and the prefix "Bad".

The arms are in use since the 13th century, the banner at least since 1965.
