Partito Comunista dei Lavoratori (Workers Communist Party) -
P.C.L.
In 2006 a trotskist faction of the Communist Refoundation Party
broke off. Initially, the name of the independent faction was
Movimento per il Partito Comunista dei Lavoratori (Movement for
the Workers' Communist Party); in early 2008 the first congress
was held, the actual party was founded and the name was shortened
into the present one. The P.C.L. will take part in the
forthcoming European elections (June 2009) alone, i.e. without
forming any coalition with other political forces.
The flag is red, with the round logo in central position. Two
patterns of the logo are known, i.e. before and after the
foundation congress. In the earlier version (2006-2007), a large
red hammer & sickle symbol with black shadow overlaps a
stylized pale blue (cyan) globe on white background; around the
globe run the words "PARTITO COMUNISTA" (above) and
"DEI LAVORATORI" (below) in red capital letters; only
the bottom line is in italics style. A red crescent added to the
left side of the logo reads "MOVIMENTO PER IL" in white
capital letters. In the present version of the logo (2008- ), the
red hammer & sickle symbol throws its shadow in opposite
direction, all the lettering around the globe is black, in
non-italics style, the red crescent has been dropped, while in
the lower hoist the words "per la 4ª internazionale"
(for the 4th Internationale), in white lowercase letters, have
been added. Due to these two lines of text, the logo is slightly
shifted towards the upper rim.
The flag with the old version can be seen here.

PCL (Partito Comunista dei Lavoratori = Workers Communist Party)
The
older version of the flag is the one with the crescent [1,2,3,4]. The newer version
(above) is the one with
inscription "per la 4a Internazionale" [5,6,7].
