The council informed me they do not use a municipal flag.

The council informed me their coat of arms was first used on 18 December 2009, being adopted through a contest organized by the Municipal Secretary, in which Rafael Sánchez Lara was recognized as the winner and designer of the municipal coat of arms. The shield has to its sides orange ribbons. At the bottom, an orange ribbon reads "La puerta de entrada a la selva Lacandona" [The port of entry to the Lacandona jungle]. Under this, the year 1564 is read, the year Friar Pedro Lorenzo de La Nada moved people from Pochutla to Ocosingo, sometimes recognized as its year of foundation. Above the shield, the rays of the sun emerge, recognizing its importance in daily life. At the top of the shield, which has a red border, a cob of corn is found in an orange disc, basic aliment of the people. At the bottom of the border is its name, OCOSINGO. To the sides of the border are Maya hieroglyphs, recognizing the historical Maya sites especially in the eastern part of the Municipality. In its inner section, it is divided into two halves with a green triangle at the bottom. The triangle depicts an orange tree, representing its flora; by it, a river flows likely representing the Jatate River that flows along its boundary. On the right half, the San Jacinto de Polonia church is depicted, with an indigenous woman in Tzeltal attire holding a ribbon. On the left half, a building (probably pre-Hispanic) is seen with a black Indian in front carrying a bow and a quiver, a direct representation of its name which means "place of the black man".
