Coat of Arms

The council uses an emblem which depicts a duck in front of the sun; to the right, three waves are depicted. This alludes to its name which means "place in the river of the pijijis"; pijijis being the Dendrocygna autumnalis or black-bellied whistling duck in English, depicted on the symbol. It is used on the sign at its entrance.
