Blazon: I grønt en sølv spiss, skråstilt venstre høyre, dannet ved bølgesnitt. 
In English: Vert a pile wavy argent issuant from base dexter.

The wavy pile symbolizes the Målselv River that runs through the municipality 
and is a namesake of the municipality. It makes serpentine-like loops through a 
fertile valley.
