Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a pillory Argent accompanied at dexter by with a sheaf of rye ears Or and at sinister by a chestnut bur Or leaved Or and cracked Gules and issuant from a base wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent a mound of three coupeaux Or. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals: "UNI?O DAS FREGUESIAS DE REBORDAINHOS E POMBARES".
Meaning:
These arms are clearly a modification of those of Rebordainhos (see below), with the sheaf mutated from wheat to rye, the distaff replaced with a bur, and the whole hilly riverside added. It doesn´t however incorporate any of the elements of the former Pombares communal arms (except maybe the fount, transformed into the base wavy) - which is unexpected and, judged from what we have seen so far, unusual.
