The shield is Argent, issuant from a base sable charged with a fess or a cork oak vert, below five escutcheons azure set in cross each charged with eleven plates set 3:2:3:2:1 (Portugal ancient). Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FREGUESIA DE CASTRO VERDE".

Castro Verde Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Castro Verde Municipality (q.v.); it had 4898 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 299.53 km².
