Shield Argent with base wavy of Vert and Argent, a Holstein cow statant proper, in chief two bells Azure with bobbins and bell frames Gules, ordered per fess. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "MOSTEIRO - LAJES DAS FLORES".
Meaning:
The bells are representing a monastery (Port.: mosteiro) and are thus punning, their number refers to the two former villages forming the municipality. The cow is symbolising agriculture, especially rearing of livestock. The base with green waves is symbolising the Atlantic.

Mosteiro Commune is one of the seven communes of Lajes das Flores Municipality; it had 43 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 6.2 km².
