Almancil Commune

Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field gyronny of eight of white and blue (see left image above) or blue and white (see right image above).
The new flag, adopted in 2025, shows a trivial change in the background pattern, from quarterly to gyronny, parallel to the change from four to five visible towers on the mural crown, both justified by the status upgrade of the communal seat from town to city. The inscription of the scroll changed from ALMANCIL to FREGUESIA DE ALMANCIL.

Shield gules with base wavy of Argent and Vert, a gridiron Sable between two Algarvian chimneys proper. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DE ALMANCIL".
Meaning:
The gridiron is an attribute of St. Lawrence, the local patron saint. The base wavy is a representation of the Atlantic Ocean. The chimneys are typical local buildings.
