The flag was hoisted for the first time at the Interest Association's premises on New Year's Eve 2010. Color, shape and symbols has been developed in collaboration with Lars Hammarlin and Fredrik Andersson, who have put in a lot of work over the past year. The colors: Green for Tjurkö, the blue shades symbolize the sea and the sky. The symbols: The sledgehammer stands for crafts and the candle for fishing. The shape: Symbol of the marine heritage."
