Although Calhan does not have a flag now, it did have one. It was adopted in April 1981 after being accepted by Mayor Philip Garlick and designed by the third-grade class of the Calhan School. The flag consists of a blue field with brown snow-capped mountains, has a tree with two children beside it, and reads "CALHAN COLORADO" in red. The class voted on a possible design, then cut out letters and pasted it to the flag.
