According to a 1973 article from The Times-Republican, the small town of Lineville, Iowa has a flag. The flag is diagonally divided (bottom left to top right) into two fields. There was a giant yellow L in the middle. In the top left corner reads "IA." and the bottom right corner "MO." both in yellow. The article states that the colors of the fields were red and blue respectively but doesn't clarify which is which.

Using color theory, we can assume that the darker color -- the field on top -- is the blue one and the bottom field is the red one. The flag was made by Clayton Haner.

Lineville is a tiny town in Wayne County, Iowa that borders Missouri and the even smaller town of South Lineville. As of the 2020 census, Lineville has 195 people and South Lineville has only 13!

New flag represents town of two states

Lineville Community Betterment Committee recently presented a newly designed town flag to the Lineville Mayor and Town Council. The flag, of red, yellow, and blue, represents the town of two states, and was designed by and made by LCB member, Mrs, Clayton (Dorothy) Hanner. Presented as a surprise gift to the town. LCB Chairman, Ted L. Cox, stated that the flag is the symbol of a new co-operative community spirit.
