The flag of the Municipality of Agua de Oro was adopted on 21.08.2020.
On
August 21, the name of the lucky winner of the contest launched by the
Municipality of Agua de Oro was announced. The contest's objective was to design
a flag to represent the mountain town.
The winner was Liliana Antonia
Lezcano, a resident of the El Algodonal neighborhood, after a jury evaluated all
the submitted projects and chose Liliana's because her design presented a
"defined, unique aesthetic, with the necessary simplicity and the representation
of the points chosen as an identity symbol."
It is worth noting that a
total of 17 proposals were submitted by different residents of the town, which
were reviewed and evaluated by the distinguished jury.
The colors represented in the flag have the following
explanation:
Green: For the color of nature, the native forest, ecology.
It also represents hope, vitality, and the fertility of the land.
Orange:
It symbolizes energy, the warmth of the sun, and is also called the color of
friendship. It refers to the warmth and friendliness of a tourist destination.
The color of many fruits and flowers at dawn and dusk is, therefore, a special
color of nature.
Symbols: The sun, in this case, refers to the historical
past of the place, specifically to the native peoples and the Jesuits who
settled in the area. Likewise, the sun is often used as a symbol of tourism,
associated with summer, vacations, and recreational activities."

The municipality of Colonia Caroya (16,168 inhabitants in 2010; 6,970 ha) is
located in Colón Department, 45 km of Córdoba.
Colonia Caroya originates
in the Estancia Jesuítica de Colonia Caroya, an estate established in 1616 by
the Society of Jesus, which was inscribed in 2000 in the UNESCO World Heritage
List, as part of the Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba:
"The Jesuit
Block in Córdoba, heart of the former Jesuit Province of Paraguay, contains the
core buildings of the Jesuit system: the university, the church and residence of
the Society of Jesus, and the college. Along with the five estancias, or farming
estates, they contain religious and secular buildings, which illustrate the
unique religious, social, and economic experiment carried out in the world for a
period of over 150 years in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The Block’s
supporting estancias each included a church or chapel, priests’ residence,
ranches for slaves and indigenous peoples, work areas (camps, mills, beating
mills, etc.), hydraulic systems (breakwaters, irrigation ditches, canals, etc.),
farmhouses, and large extents of land for cattle breeding.
The outstanding
achievements of the Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba include the
development of technologies based on local resources, both material and human,
and the use of the respective knowledge of the participants – the religious
Order and the indigenous and African slave labourers – all of which resulted in
a mixture of architectural, technological, and artistic expressions reflecting
mannerist and baroque influences adapted to the locality."

The domain was acquired in 1661 by Ignacio
Duarte Quirós, founder of Colegio Monserrat. The priest established a wealthy
farm producing wheat, maize, fruit, wine, honey and cotton. During the War of
Independence, the farm housed in 1814-1816 a weapon factory, producing bayonets
for the North Army.
Purchased by the State in 1854, the place was settled in
1876 by immigrants from Friul (Italy), who initiated urbanization in 1878,
keeping most buildings erected by the Society of Jesus (manor, chapel,
fishery, remains of mills).

The flag of Colonia Caroya was selected in a public contest,
whose results were proclaimed on 24 December 2014. Four designs were
short-listed among 43 proposals by 27 representatives of institutions, cultural
groups, citizen's centers and the Córdoba National University.
The
winning design, proposed by the teacher Laura Udrizar, received 52% (965) of the
votes (1,852). The flag is red with a plane tree leaf charged with a "foreign"
[brown] hand holding a bunch of grapes.
Red represents energy, strength and
peoples.
Plane trees are an emblematic element of the town, robust and
elegant, providing their generous canopy and shadows.
The hand is a symbol of
force, work and commitment.
The second most voted proposal (402, 22%),
submitted by Juan Santiago Roya Peralta (13 years old) is diagonally divided
blue-orange by a white bend, with a bunch of grapes in lower hoist and a plane
tree
leaf in upper fly.
The third most voted proposal (283, 15%) was
submitted by Kevin Coronel (9 years old).
The fourth most voted proposal
(202, 11%), submitted by Ignacio Arias (13 years old), is horizontally divided
green-red-black with a bunch of grapes hold by two hands, brown and pink,
respectively.

Municipality of Estación Juarez Celma is located in the Department of Colón,
Cordoba. Its flag was unveiled on 05.12.2024.
"The official presentation
of the Estación Juárez Celman flag will take place on December 5th in a
significant ceremony at the Plaza de la Intendencia, next to the municipal
building. The event will be presided over by Mayor Fabian Reschia, and the
entire community is invited to attend.
The flag holds great significance, as
it not only represents Estación Juárez Celman from now on, but also symbolizes
unity, identity, and pride for the entire city.
The flag was chosen
months ago as part of the "A City on a Flag" competition, an event that brought
together numerous projects developed by residents, organizations, and businesses
located in the city.
Ultimately, the jury selected the design created by our
resident, Gladys Avellaneda.
Regarding the flag's creation, Mayor Fabian
Reschia remarked, "This competition has been a true celebration of our identity
and unity as a city. The active participation of our residents and local
institutions has been fundamental to achieving this."
Flag, symbol of
unity among neighbors
The flag features horizontal stripes of green
(top), white (middle), and orange (bottom), with a faceless sun in the center.
Each element has a deep meaning that reinforces the identity and values of
Estación Juárez Celman.
Green symbolizes nature, the land, agriculture,
and forests in general. It is also associated with hope, rebirth, freedom, and
progress. Gladys Avellaneda chose green to reflect the region's natural
vitality and the community's continued growth. The color orange symbolizes
courage, sacrifice, prosperity, energy, and enthusiasm. This color captures the
dynamic spirit and bravery of the citizens. White embodies the sense of
peace, purity, neutrality, and unity. This color highlights the peaceful
character and cohesion of the Estación Juárez Celman community. Furthermore,
the faceless sun is a symbol of natural strength and life. It represents the sun
as a source of life, growth, and energy, becoming an emblem of vitality and
power. This symbol was chosen to represent the energy and dynamism that
characterize the city."

The flag of the Municipality of Jesús María was adopted on 07.10.2025.
"Jesús María experienced a historic event this Tuesday, October 7th, with the
selection of its official flag. The process was carried out within the framework
of the provincial program "Our Flag," promoted by Vice Governor Myrian Prunotto
and developed in conjunction with the Municipality of Jesús María, headed by
Mayor Federico Zárate.
During the
open call, 126 graphic proposals were received from residents, institutions, and
local organizations. After a rigorous technical evaluation process, 19 projects
were selected for meeting the established vexillological criteria, and three of
these advanced to the final stage.
Finally, by decision of the jury, the
proposal called “Estrella del Norte Cordobés” was chosen, created by Martín Del
Fabro from Jesus Maria.
The winning design highlights Jesús María as the
gateway to northern Córdoba, with deep respect for its Jesuit past, its urban
development, and its role as a regional landmark.
The flag consists of
three horizontal stripes and a golden flaming sun, a symbol shared with the
national and provincial flags:
- Red: represents local history, the
bravery of its people, the Jesuit heritage, the legacy of Pio Leon and the
city's thriving present.
- White: symbolizes the social and cultural
integration of Jesús María as a multifaceted and welcoming city.
-
Celeste blue: expresses the connection with the Nation and the Province, and the
pride of being part of the Argentine project.
- Blazing Sun: synthesizes
the values, direction and vitality of Jesús María as the "star of the north of
Córdoba".

The flag of the Municipality of La Calera was adopted in 2015.
"The
following composition and characteristics of the “Official Flag of the City of
La Calera” are hereby established, taking into account the principles that led
to its creation and the meaning of its components: Three (03) proportional
vertical stripes: red on the left, symbolizing the color of the beginning of
life, the central fire that animates the directions; white in the center,
referring to the identity of a people, to purity; and green on the right,
representing the renewal of nature, hope. It closes in the center with the Inca
sun in gold, present in the first national flag. In its center is the Jesuit
chapel, and on both vertical stripes at the ends, a lime kiln, which essentially
represents the identity of La Calera through its most important industrial
activity."

The flag of the Municipality of La Granja was adopted in March 2025.
"This mountain town in the Colón Department experienced an institutional and
cultural milestone with the selection of its distinctive emblem.
The ceremony
took place in the City Council and was presided over by Mayor Miguel Ángel
Pittaro. Members of the legislative body, police authorities, local executive
officials, and representatives from the provincial protocol and legislative
bodies were present.
The technical direction of the process was overseen by
Cristian Baquero Lazcano, a renowned creator of official emblems in the province
of Córdoba and director of the Argentine Association of Ceremonial and Protocol
(ASARP), and Andrea Puglie, coordinator of the "Our Flag" program, which
promotes the creation of symbols that strengthen the identity of the towns of
Córdoba through the Legislature.
The chosen design—the result of a
competition open to the entire community—was selected after a two-round voting
process and a tie-breaking vote cast by the mayor himself, according to the
powers granted by the competition rules.
The official flag consists of three
proportional horizontal stripes: light blue at the top, white in the center, and
green at the bottom, evoking the landscapes, purity, and hope of La Granja. At
its center shines the silhouette of the Jesuit Sun, a symbol present in the flag
of the province of Córdoba, reaffirming the connection to the regional and
spiritual history of the area.
The winning design was conceived by students
from CENMA RC Anexo La Granja, Dr. Pablo Rueda School, who skillfully and
creatively represented the collective sentiment of the town. The competition
received more than 40 original proposals, 15 of which reached the final round,
culminating in a close and moving selection.
The flag will be officially
presented in digital format during the opening of the 15th La Granja Book Fair,
scheduled for April 16-20. The first raising of the official flag will take
place in May, on a date and at a location to be confirmed.
The creation of
this flag was prompted by Ordinance No. 751/22, which established the guidelines
for the competition entitled "A Flag for La Granja," inviting residents to
participate in designing a shared symbol that encapsulates the values,
landscapes, history, and community spirit of this corner of northern Córdoba.
With this significant step, La Granja joins the growing number of towns that, in
recent years, have embraced the challenge of defining themselves visually and
symbolically through their own unique identity. A flag is not just a piece of
colored cloth: it is memory, it is the present, and it is the future. From today
onward, La Granja has its own."

The flag of the Municipality of Mendiolaza was adopted on 30.10.2020.
"To
complete the process of establishing a municipal identity, the development of
the city's flag began last August. The project was initiated by the Youth
Secretariat through a contest open to all citizens, who could participate
anonymously. A jury comprised of authorities, representatives from local
institutions and neighborhood associations, as well as artists and professionals
from the city, selected the winning design. Nineteen proposals were submitted,
and the voting was conducted online via the municipality's social media
channels. The winning flag received 18 votes. This symbol will represent the
city at civic, institutional, and educational events.
The flag consists
of three vertical stripes of blue, white and green, with a golden leaf in the
middle of the white field.
The blue represents the waterways that run
through the town, which are also featured on the Mendiolaza coat of arms. The
combination with white symbolizes its belonging to the Argentine Republic and
the emblem of the Province, albeit with a more modern and vibrant tone,
reflecting the city's drive and promising future.
The white represents
the diversity of a people formed by those born in the Sierras Chicas region and
those who came from elsewhere seeking peace and a sense of belonging. The flag
features the silhouette of a native leaf in gold, a symbol that lends a rural
touch while also representing formality, sovereignty, and respect for nature. It
also includes a rising sun, symbolizing a future, prosperous, and growing city,
while emphasizing its belonging to both a province and a nation.
Green is
the most prominent of the three colors and represents nature in its entirety and
the abundance of life. Furthermore, it is the color of hope for a prosperous
future for all the families who choose to live in this beloved city."

The flag of the Municipality of Salsipuedes was unveiled in October 2017.
"The flag that represents the town was created through an open and
participatory contest for the residents, with the supervision of a jury and the
support of experts in vexillology, including the president and secretary of the
Cordoba Association of Professional Public Relations Professionals (ACREP),
Francisco Caligiuri and Gustavo Agüero Filgueira, as well as the advice of the
artistic and graphic creator of the Flag of Cordoba, Cristian Baquero Lazcano.
Valeria Scattola is the author of the flag chosen unanimously by the jury
and which today stands as the official emblem of the city of Salsipuedes."

The flag is horizontally divided blue over white over green with a golden half-sun on the central stripe.
Valentin Poposki, 7 April 2026
The flag was specifically unveiled on 6 October 2017, according to the
article; and won out of 16 proposals. The design's meaning can be clearly
inferred: blue for the Argentine nation, white adding onto it and potentially
symbolizing peace, and the green most definitely is inspired by its landscape.
The central golden sun is the one found on the provincial flag, in turn from the
Jesuit symbol as these missionaries were found in the area.
