The Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria, INTA (National Institute
of Agricultural Technology) was established on December 4, 1956 through Decreto
Ley (Decree Law) 21.680/56 (http://www.inta.gov.ar/aniversario/doc/decreto.pdf)
to promote and invigorate the development of research and agricultural extension
and accelerate with the benefits of these fundamental functions the
modernization and improvement of the agricultural enterprise and of rural life
as published (http://www.inta.gov.ar/aniversario/historia/boletin.pdf)
in the "Boletín Oficial" (Official gazette) derived from a report by Argentinian
Economist Dr. Raúl Prebisch, then Secretary.
It is an organization dependent
on the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries.
