The CRSC is located in Bennelong Park, Putney, New South Wales. Its members sail on the Parramatta River, about 8 nautical miles west (upstream) of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and are about 5 miles from the Homebush Bay site of the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
The club was founded in 1945. The original club house was demolished to make way for extension to Ryde bridge and the club moved in 1986 to its present site. The club has maintained a racing fleet of over 100 boats for the past 20 years. It is family oriented.
