The emblem is still the same as on its creation in 1995. Probably the bridge with three arches symbolized the merger of the originally three communes.

Onsernone in the Onsernone valley was formed in two steps by the merger of different communes. In 1995 the communes of Comologno, Crana and Russo formed the new commune of Onsernone. On 10 April 2016 Onsernone incorporated Gresso, Mosogno, Vergeletto and Isorno (which on its part was created by the merger of Auressio, Berzona and Loco in 2001), and became the only commune in the valley (see below).

Azure a paschal lamb argent passant over a base vert holding a flag staff or with a flag swallow-tailed gules cross argent and along its top a schwenkel of the last and in chief three mullets of five or.

The paschal lamb on the flag of Comologno alludes to St. John the Baptist, protector of the parish church.

Isorno (2001 until 9 April 2016)

Per fess azure and vert a bar wavy argent and overall issuant from base three ribbons or interwoven ending in pall couped in chief.

Isorno was created after the merger of the communes of Auressio, Berzona and Loco in 2001. The new flag symbolizes this merger, each thread of the twisted cord representing a former commune.
