Shield Gules, a mountain cock Or, in base an axe and a sword crossed per saltire, both Or.
Meaning:
The axe is symbolising the forest clearences in the Medieval. The sword is representing a person named "Siegmar", name giver of the municipality. The original name had been "Sigmaresfelt" (= field of Siegmar). The cock (Latin: Tetrao urogallus) can still be found in the surrounding woods.

The seal was adopted in 1930, the arms were adopted in 1957 by the municipality. On 5 May 1982 the banner was approved and the arms were confirmed by the county administration, published in GABl 558/1983.
