Shield quartered of Gules and Argent, on 1st and 4th quarter a horse forcene Argent, on 2nd and 3rd quarter a lion rampant Gules crowned Or, all heraldic animals are respecting each other.
Meaning:
The market town belonged to the Lordship of Seifriedsberg and had no proper seals and arms until 1882. The arms are based on the arms of the Barons Villinger of Schönenberg. Emperor Maximilian I granted village and cognisance to the barons in 1515. The status of a market town was gained in 1586 on behalf of the barons. On banner the edges of shield and quarters are displayed in counterchanged tinctures.
