Shield Or, an abased bar wavy Azure, above a lion passant Sable tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The black lion is referring to the Dukes of Swabia from the Staufen kin, especially to Birenbachs relationship with the former Lordship of Büren-Hohenstaufen. The bar wavy is representing a creek (German: Bach<7i>) and thus a canting element.
