Renaissance shield Argent, on a triplemount issuant Vert two grapevines Gules each twice leafed Vert and twice fruited Or.
Meaning:
Under the rule of Julius Echter of Mespelbrunn the town was surrounded by a fortification around 1600. The existence of the first seal is proven since the end of the 30-Years-War (1618 - 1648). The garpevines are referring to the local viticulture, which nowadays has lost its importance. The shield had been crested by a Paschal Lamb. The lamb was used as the only coat of arms from the early 19th century until 1898. Besides there had been another seal of the care for the poor people. It displayed a radiant trinity eye. The arms without crest were again introduced by Otto Hupp (1925) and simplified in 1959.

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent a hops twig Vert with one leaf and one umbel, at sinister Azure a crozier issuant Or and a base chequered of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The crozier is alluding to two former rulers, the Abbots of Fulda and the Bishops of Würzburg. The dexter half is symbolising the cultivation of hops. The chequered base is perhaps alluding to the Lords of Trimberg.
