Coat of Arms

Shield Or a lion rampant Sable, armed and tongued Gules, superimposed by a bendlet Argent and flanked by three fish Azure, najant in chief and haurient in flanches.
Meaning:
The current pattern already appeared on a city seal with prints since 1339. The seal probably was granted together with the city rights in 1313. Lion and bendlet are taken from the arms of the Bishopric of Bamberg, to which Weismain historically belonged. The fish are in the shield since 1603. Between 1819 and 1954 the shield had been Azure, parted by a bend Argent and charged with three fish Argent, one above the bend and two beneath the bend.
