Shield Azure a fess dancetty Or.
Meaning:
The existence of the oldest seal is proven since 1333. It had probably been made in the 13th century. It displayed a priest (pejorative German: Pfaffe) with a booklet in his dexter hand. Since 1523 all seals until the 19th century displayed the same pattern with changes in details. In 1812 the city and the citizens' militia gained the current pattern. It was based on the oldest arms of the Counts of Wittelsbach, but the tinctures had been those of the Benedictine Scheyern Monastery.
