Shield Gules a Carline thistle Argent with four leaves Or in saltire.
Meaning:
In 1939 the municipality used a stamp displaying a linden, like in the arms of many other municipalities. On behalf of the local council a thistle was chosen instead in 1964. Böttingen is located on the plateau of the Swabian Jura and the thistle is a characteristic plant in the area.
