Lamballe-Armor (16,689 inhabitants in 2020; 13,065 ha) is a commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany in northwestern France. It was established on 1 January 2019 by merger of the former communes of Lamballe (the seat), Morieux and Planguenoual.

On January 1, 2016, the new municipality of Lamballe had been created by merging those of Meslin and Lamballe.
The former commune of Lamballe before 2016 had 12,300 inhabitants on 7.629 ha.
On January 1, 1973, the municipalities of Lamballe, Maroué, La Poterie, Saint-Aaron and Trégomar had been united in one and the same municipality which took the name of Lamballe.

The region has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, as the presence of the Trégomar menhir suggests. In 1084, Geoffroy Botherel I founded the priory of Saint-Martin by donating land to the abbey of Marmoutier: the text of the donation mentions for the first time the name of Lamballe. The village attached to the priory would then have developed between Gouessant and the fortified constructions of Count Geoffroy Botherel. A fire caused by lightning destroyed much of the city in 1436.

Lamballe was the capital of the territory of the Counts of Penthièvre, who in 1569 were made dukes. La Noue, the famous Huguenot leader, was mortally wounded in 1591 in the siege of the castle, which was dismantled in 1626 by Richelieu. Lamballe is cited for having participated in the revolt of the Red Bonnets or revolt of the stamped paper which took place in 1675. The last Duke of Penthièvre granted his son Louis the title Prince of Lamballe. The Prince de Lamballe married Marie Therese de Savoie-Carignan and she took the title Princesse de Lamballe. The Princesse lived with her father-in-law after the early death of her husband. She was a close friend of Queen Marie Antoinette and one of the most famous victims of the French Revolution.

Charles Armand Tuffin, marquis de la Rouërie, hero of the American war of independence, died near Lamballe in 1793. Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet's ascendant, Guillame Pinochet, was a Lamballe native of Breton descent. He migrated to then-Spanish Chile in the 18th century. In 1947, several arrests of participants in the "Blue Plan plot" (an anti-Communist plot, aimed at seizing power in France, prepared in 1946-1947) took place in Lamballe.

An other flag was observed in 2016 (photo), and in 2019 (photo, picture taken in april 2019, after the merger). This flag was white with the logo adopted in 2011 and the coat of arms in the fly.
