Nozomi Kariyasu, 3 February 2006
The emblem is a stylised hiragana te ㊂ and a crane (of the Maizuru Mountain
in the centre of the city), flapping its wings towards the sky, and symbolises
Tendo's great leaping development. (The kanji Ten 天 of Tendo means heavens/sky.)
The flag's adoption came into force on 1 January 1990. The field colour is
given according JIS Z8721: hue 2.5P, brightness 3, saturation 8.

The flag of the city of Tendo is already reported, but I found two versions
of purple flags.

The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1963 and the flag was adopted on Dec
13th 1989 by Notice No 67. The bluish purple flag has a white city emblem in the
center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana て Te of Tendo. It represents an
exponential development of the city like a crane in Mt. Maizuru in the center of
the city flying in the sky. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The diameter of the
emblem is 3/5 the height of the flag. The law says the color of the flag field
should be a bluish purple so it is Tomislav’s 1st image.
