The Flag

The city emblem was adopted in 1909 but there is no flag law. The dull purple flag charged with white city emblem in the center. The flag proportions are 2:3.
The city emblem is a white ring taken from former lord the Matsudairas vexilloid used during war times.

The design combines five “大” kanji characters to form the shape of a cherry blossom petal.
