Located in Setagaya City Tokyo and established in 1950. The embroidered ceremonial flag has navy blue background with a silver and gold emblem and vertically written gold kanji university name in gold fringe. The university flag has navy blue background with a white emblem in the center. The university emblem was adopted in 1929,and combines legitimacy (authenticity) with excellent functionality as a highly visible and memorable mark. In the more than 70 years since its establishment and throughout the changing times, the university emblem has been loved and remembered by many students, alumni, school staff, and the local community. The outer ring is a regular circle with excellent independence, centripetal force, and core strength. The design, which is devoid of any ornamentation, is simple, powerful, and traditional in character, with the two seal script characters "成城" taken from the Chinese classic poem "Shijing" inside. The two Chinese characters 成城 for "seijo" mean "a man of reason and discernment," or "a man who shapes the nation.
