Candelaria's coat of arms was adopted for the Regulation on Police and Government of the Municipality on the 1st of October 2021, being designed by Professor Miguel Esquivel Borrego. Below
the shield is a green ribbon with laurels from it, reading CANDELARIA. The shield's frame in gold and outlined in blue has four white supports. At the top is a golden circle outlined in blue
with the National Coat of Arms; to its sides is a ribbon in green and red, remembering the national colors. Above there are also three stars, of which their significance is unknown. At the
bottom of the inner section of the shield (where the blue outline is), the year 1948 is read, when the Ejido Candelaria was established; a thin white outline of the shield is also found in
this area. The inner section is divided into four quadrants. At the upper-left are two cattle grazing on the grass under a night sky. To the right is the El Tigre archaeological site over
blue on a sunny day. The lower-left depicts the Tree of Life. To its right is a boat on the open sea, representing navigation in the Candelaria River.

It is believed the coat of arms was adopted shortly after municipalization in 1998. The previous coat of arms was divided diagonally into two. In the center of the shield was a rectangle with a point
facing down, depicting the state with the Candelaria River marked. Just below is a blue triangle, depicting an open book (with a green and red half, the red half being inscribed) and a ball with the
coloring of a basketball, soccer ball, and volleyball, representing the want for development in these. To the right is a section depicting the Candelaria River, which gave name to the municipality.
A man in a canoe is found on it; a Maya Indian overlooks this river. Just above is a small section depicting the El Tigre archaeological site. The left half depicts a cornfield, with a cattle head
having a dominant presence.
