The person on the left is a farmer, while the one on the right is mestiza in traditional dress. They are by the tree of Balché, sacred tree of the Mayas, symbolizes the seal of Mayan rituals done in order to obtain purification from the gods. The Maya head, surrounded by two ears of corn and surmounted by a serpent, remembers the arrival of the first Maya founders, around 1443 to 1445. The three flowers symbolizes the artisanry of the town, which builds with its hands.
