Coat of Arms

I was informed that no information could be found on the background of the coat of arms. Description according to the Encyclopedia of Municipalities and Delegations:

The coat of arms is conformed by three sections. The first includes a pyramid which represents the archaeological zone "Jaina", and a Maya resting with his feet crossed and arms extended, sustaining in the right a chu [pot] and in the left a corn plant which signifies the origin, the traditions, and principal activity of the population. The sun, situated in the upper part, manifests the warm and tropical climate of the place. The second and third sections are divided by the flagpole situated in front of the municipal palace of the municipal seat, the last of which possesses a unique character in being found surrounded by three butterflies which signify the indigenous cultures, colonizers, and mestizos which resulted from both. The [St. Francis of Assisi] church which appears in the second section manifests the architectural wealth and profound religiousness in Hecelchakán; meanwhile, the book, hoe and machete which appear in the third, are for popular education of will and dedication. The colors of the coat of arms manifest the natural diversity which dominates in the territory and the cordiality of its inhabitans; the colors of the ribbon its patriotism.
