The coat of arms of Cuencamé was adopted in 1997, being designed by Jesús Esquivel Lomas. The shield is placed over wood, with a ledge at the bottom bearing two plants in the form of a fire; this remembers its sundial. On the ledge is the year 1598, its foundation year. A crown is placed at the top. The border of the shield at the top reads CUENCAME, and at the bottom TIERRA DE GENERALES [Land of Generals]. A cross divides the inner sections, remembering faith. To the upper-left is a sword and musket crossed together, remembering its conflicts. To the upper-right is a crossed pick and shovel in front of the San Lorenzo Mountains, remembering its mining industry. In the lower left is an Indian woman kneading dough, remembering its populators. To the lower left are agricultural products of the region, corn and beans.
