Charlois [sub-municipality]
Charlois was a separate municipality until 1895, when it merged with Rotterdam.
It is in southern Rotterdam, on the island of IJsselmonde. Here is the
port of Waalhaven. Charlois was a possession of Charles the Bold of Burgundy,
when he was a Crownprince and had the title of Count of Charollois, that
is Charollois near Le Creusot in France.
Flag: seven fly-diagonal stripes of white and blue. At the sub-municipal
seat I saw three such flags with the inescutcheon of the coat of arms in
the center.
