Cisek / Czissek - rural commune, Kędzierzyn-Koźle County, Opolskie Voivodship
- former German name: Friedenau (1934-45); Name in Silesian dialect: Czyszki;
very old name: Ciska
A typical agricultural commune (89 % of the land under cultivation).
Not much happened there since 1241 besides wars, fires, foreign occupations
and other minor mishaps.
Arms and flag adopted on February 17, 2003 (resolution # IV/19/2003).
"Arms: on the light-blue/green shield divided by silver waves there
is a "golden fish" raising above the surface of the water and lifting up,
on the yew-tree branch, the Upper Silesian eagle with red and gold princely
mitre on its head. Above the shield, in the wreath of the yew-tree branches,
is an eight-pointed silver cross on the red shield and the date "1241"
- first mention of the village Ciska.
Flag: a rectangle in the ratio 5:8 divided into two horizontal bands:
yellow over light-blue, in the proportions 5:1.
The ceremonial flag has a Coat of Arms displayed on yellow band, in the canton
of the flag."
