Shield Or with base wavy of Azure and Argent parted by a throughout Latin cross Azure charged in its intersection point of bars with a rose Argent seeded Gules and barbed Vert chaussé Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "ALBERGARIA-A-VELHA E VALMAIOR".
Meaning:
The arms are basically those of former the Valmaior Commune with omitted corn cobs and the mitllwheel was replaced by the arms of the former Albergaria-a-Velha Commune. The flag colours are representing both former entities as follows: blue for Albergaria-a-Velha and yellow for Valmaior.

Albergaria-a-Velha e Valmaior is one of the two communes of Albergaria-a-Velha Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 11058 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 47,0 km².
