Meaning:
The silver background and the charged saltire are taken from the arms of the Araújo kin. Gonçalo Vaz de Araújo erected the parish church of Our Lady of Grace in the 16th century. Furhermore the family owned at the same time a manor called "Quinta de Abrigada", which had an enormous agricultural and florestal area. The star is an attribute of Our Lady of Grace, the local patron saint. The bulldog is taken from the arms of Alenquer municipality.
