It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field (village rank).

The arms are Vert a castle Or with port and windows Gules, masoned Sable, in chief a Paschal Lamb Argent nimbed Or holding a cross-staff Or with gonfanon Argent charged with a cross Gules throughout. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ARNÓIA".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb probably is an attribute of St. John the Baptist.
