Folgosinho is one of the ten communes of Gouveia Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 442 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 51,69 km². From 1187 to 1836 it was a separate municipality (what may account for the early attribution of a communal coat of arms).
