Coat of arms

Shield Or, a Paschal Lamb Azure, in chief two grapevines Purpure leafed vert ordered per fess, in base a triplet of wheat ears Vert tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "PROVA - MEDA".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint.

Presentation of Prova

Prova Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Mêda Municipality; it had 187 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 14.1 km².

Shield Azure, three chestnuts Gules with parings Or ordered 1:2, issuant from base a mount Argent garnished Sable and semy of plants Vert (lit. acc. to Portuguese blazon: piqued Vert). Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "CASTEIÇÃO - MÊDA".
