Shield Argent a bridge Sable masoned Argent issuant from flanches and from base wavy Azure charged with a bar wavy Argent, in chief an estoile Gules between two maize ears Or leafed Vert.
Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading
in black upper case serifed letters "ALVOCO DA SERRA".
Meaning:
The bridge on the arms likely stands for an actual bridge over the River Alvoco and the star is the usual reference to Serra da Estrela, here more aptly chosen than most elsewhere, as Alvoco da Serra is one of the four communes sharing the Star Peak —
summit of mainland Portugal, at 1993m, the others being Loriga, Unhais da Serra and São Pedro de Manteigas.
