Coat of Arms

[Lajes (Seia) commune CoA (until 2013)] image by António Martins-Tuválkin andSérgio Horta, 6 Aug 2025

Shield Vert three roof tiles Or arrayed in fess, in chief a sheep passant Or, in base a kiln Argent masoned Sable and a flame Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "LAJES - SEIA".
Meaning:
The word "lajes" means "rock slab" or "flagstone"; the arms are thus not canting — unless the roof tiles for some reason are semantically related in this case, perhaps via the partial synonym chain composed of: "roof tile" ≅ "shingle" ≅ "slate" ≅ "rock slab".
