Description of the Flag

The flag of the City of Sarasota, Florida, has a white (or silver) background and city logo on it. The logo on the flag is the Statue of David, which represents the City's strong tie to the cultural arts within the community. As noted in the announcement of the seal contest, the flag of Sarasota doesn't use a seal but instead uses a logo, which features a silhouette of the statue of David and was adopted in 1988. https://www.sarasotafl.gov/Home/Components/News/News/2790/

Previous seal

The previous seal was adopted soon after Sarasota was incorporated as a town in October 1902. The seal included the motto "May Sarasota Prosper" and consists of a mullet, palmettos, and shells at its base.
