Brooks held a municipal flag design competition from January 1 to July 1, 2025. The 38 designs received were subjected to public voting from July 9 to 18. The winning flag, which received 87 of the 240 votes, was designed by Ella Robinson. According to the description in the competition voting packet, at the center of the flag is Chief McIntosh, a chief of the Creek Nation, which lived in the area before white settlers. He signifies the community’s “spirit of perseverance and brother/sisterhood.” Behind are images of Georgia and the US flag which have been altered from an old Brooks Road Race t-shirt graphic to connect the past to the present.
