Polk County now uses a logo flag showing a green and black logo on a white
field.
The logo appears to have been adopted in approximately May 2020, per
the Wayback Machine.

The earliest image date I found for the logo is March 23, 2020. But the county seems to have started using the current version, which adds "Leading the Way", around September 2025 and regularly since January 2026 (see the YouTube video series). The motto "Leading the Way" was already used on a 2008 logo.

I used to live near Des Moines, Iowa, and I recalled seeing the county flag on display at what was then called (early 2000s) the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. After some searching around, I did find a smallish image of the flag.
On a white field, two horizontal and parallel horn-shaped devices, flared at the hoist, blue over orange, with the area between the horns in yellow. I do not have any idea what the symbolism is, and suspect it is a design from the 1970s or so.
