On April 24, 2025, Kenilworth, New Jersey, launched the “Borough of Kenilworth Municipal Flag Initiative,” as a project to “create a unique flag that represents the spirit and heritage of the community.” Entries were received until June 2, and during the June 17 council meeting a new borough flag was unanimously adopted. Although the designer has chosen to remain anonymous, “heartful congratulations” were granted by the mayor and council. The flag was described as being “powerful testament to a small town with a big heart” and “a symbol of unity and pride—a beacon for our past, our present, and our future.”
