Description of the flag

The flag of the Curry County, New Mexico, is dark blue with golden frame inside. Inside the frame is positioned orange map of the county bordered red, red Zia sun and blue "1909" in it. Above (but inside the frame) "Curry County" and below (also inside the frame) "New Mexico" in golden cursive letters.

The Curry County flag was adopted as official on 15 September 1992, according to the Clovis News Journal of the following day. It was chosen out of two proposals made to the county government by Clovis artist Patsy Delk, being first hoisted on 27 January the following year (according to the issue of 19 February 1993).

The County

"Curry County is a county located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The population was approximately 45,044 at the 2000 census. Its county seat is Clovis. It is named in honor of George Curry, territorial governor of New Mexico from 1907 to 1910.
