Description of the flag

The De Baca County flag, adopted for the hoisting of the county flags in the state capitol in 1992, depicts the county logo. The county logo is in the form of a coat of arms. At the top is a cowboy boot, a plow, two arrows, and a Spaniard helmet; these are representative of the county history and agriculture as a symbol of today. The shield is cut into quadrants by the Pecos River and the Sumner Dam. At the upper-left is the county courthouse, while at the upper-right is a plane landing for the army's use of an airfield here. At the bottom-left is a man in a car at a stop for transportation, and at the bottom-right is a train for commerce/railroading history. The full county name is in a yellow ribbon, and the year 1917 marks the time it was created.
